BCES, EVES, EVMS and EVHS Host First Annual Eagle Education FUN-raiser at the Dusty Boot on June 2
You know the saying “It takes a village…” to successfully accomplish almost anything. It couldn’t be more spot-on when you tack on “to support the role of public education in a community.” In the spirit of this mantra, the ‘villages’ of Eagle Valley Elementary School, Brush Creek Elementary School, Eagle Valley Middle School and Eagle Valley High School have joined forces to create the First Annual Eagle Education FUN-raiser on June 2 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Dusty Boot in Eagle.
“This is the first time four schools in the same feeder-pattern have come together to work for the same cause,” states Felicia Battle, Co-President of the BCES Parent Teacher Association, and also a member of the Education Foundation of Eagle County (EFEC). “It is a fabulous opportunity for our community to join forces at a time when our town is so divided by other issues.”
On June 2, expect a fun-filled day of activities, live entertainment from Eagle County Schools Rock Star Vocalist Jessica Long and members of the Eagle Valley Middle School Band (under the direction of Tommy Dodge), door prizes, live auction, appetizer buffet and so much more! Proceeds from the live auction will be evenly distributed between Brush Creek Elementary School, Eagle Valley Elementary School, Eagle Valley Middle School and Eagle Valley High School.
A suggested donation of $10 per person is tax deductible and will benefit Eagle County Schools’ 18 schools through the Education Foundation of Eagle County (EFEC). When guests arrive at the door, they can direct their donation to the school of their choice. Each school has its own individual needs and will use this money to help with staffing at the discretion of the Principal and in conjunction with the District’s donation policy.
A huge thank you to Mountain Beverage and Dusty Boot for sponsoring the event, and to the parent communities at all four schools for supporting a great cause.
