Rafting Experience for BCMS

Rafting Experience for BCMS

Congratulations to Anna McElduff, 6th grade teacher at Berry Creek Middle School, for receiving an EFEC Classroom grant to help provide students with a Rafting Experiential Learning Opportunity.

“I [want to] express my deepest gratitude for the generous grant... This funding will significantly impact our mission to ensure that children from all socio-economic backgrounds have equal opportunities to experience and connect with the natural world around them.

Through this support, we can introduce more students to hands-on learning experiences that immerse them in the beauty of our local watersheds and land. As we firmly believe, if we want future generations to care about preserving these vital ecosystems, we must first foster a love and understanding of them through direct engagement.

I am particularly passionate about teaching Earth science outdoors, where students can witness firsthand the intricate processes that shape our environment. By connecting classroom learning to real-world settings, we not only make science more meaningful but also cultivate a sense of responsibility in our students to address local environmental challenges.

Thank you again for helping make this vision a reality. Your commitment to advancing educational opportunities for all children and protecting our natural resources is deeply appreciated.” - Anna McElduff
